Jessica has an undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences (Molecular & Cell Biology and Mathematics & Statistics) from University College London. Over the course of her studies, she developed an interest in computational biology and biophysics. Hoping to become a well-rounded researcher, she is carrying out both experimental and computational works for her PhD project on suspended animation in living cells. She is particularly interested in the self-organisation and the mechanics of the mitotic spindle in mammalian cells, when cellular energy is depleted.
